This REALTORS Perspective

Buying a home takes looking at homes and it means your going to want to check out the neighborhood and the surrounding area.  If you find a home on the internet I suggest you do some serious work before you jump in the car.  You can use the HAR.com mapping tool or Google Earth to get a bird’s eye view of the home before you leave your house.  Things to look for are ditches, creeks, water treatment plants, apartments or strip centers that backup RIGHT on your “new” home.  When your looking at the map you’ll also want to pan out so you can see if their are any major roads close by that you “don’t” want to be near.  What about a train track.  If you don’t mind it doesn’t matter, but it might to the next seller.  Viewing your home on the internet can also give you a quick look at what the neighbors homes look like.  The photos Har.com and Google Earth use are a couple of years old, so you might still want to drive by before you mark a home off your list.  SO do your homework, jump in the car take HWY 290 North to Barker Cypress, turn South.  Go to FM 529, turn right,.  Go to Livery, turn right, continue to Heartland, turn right.  At the Corner of Grackle and Heartland…..your Home.  Let me know what you think.

Week 3 52 Weeks in Magnolia, TX a visit to Ainsworth Meats

ainsworth5_0001 Ainsworth Meats moved to the Magnolia area in 1997. Old fashioned customer service, education, advice and quality meats. “We guarantee everything we sell” says owner Raymond Skelton. They can do that because they process 95% of the meat they sell on site. Counter items are available based on what the average customer’s orders, but they maintain an inventory that can be cut to the customer’s special request. They have a wide range of meat choices: beef, pork, chicken, market made sausage (on site), small selection of seafood, wild game meats include—deer, elk and buffalo. They wrap the meat for you based if you’re going to eat it today or put it in the freezer for next week. Many ready to cook items are available: pre-marinated steaks, stuffed pork chops, chicken Diablo’s, just to name a few. They also have a small selection of grocery items to finish out the meal; potatoes, spaghetti sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, drinks and more. Wild game processing is available.

Fifty-Two linear feet of meat counter for fresh cut meats. They have three, four door freezers. A 20×10 walk in freezer and a 10×7 walk in freezer in addition to a 8x8x20 freezer. With all that freezer space they are bound to have what you’re looking for.

Ainsworth sells gift certificates. WOW, what a great gift. Speaking of great gifts, Valentines Day is coming up and it has been a growing holiday for the sale of meat. Think about it, it’s a perfect time for the men to step it up and flex those cooking muscles and show their lady they love them. A romantic dinner at home with her favorite cut of meat.

Don’t know what cut of meat to choose? No problem, one of the best things about visiting Ainsworth is that they will educate you on the type of meat and how best to cook it. Education was the inspiration for this blog. A couple of weeks ago I made a trip to my local meat market (Ainsworth Meats). I was on a serious mission, to find the right meat to cook a chicken fried steak. Unfortunately it had been at least five years since I had attempted this feat. They not only helped me with the right meat, but gave me tips on creating what ended up being the perfect batter. It is delicious.

Good meat, excellent customer service, education and advice….Ainsworth Meats the local meat market in Magnolia, Texas. Located a half mile South of Farmers Market 1488 on the West side of Farmers Market 2978. Check them out, you’ll be glad I sent you.

This REALTORS Perspective:

There is nothing like a cook out to bring the neighborhood together. If your Home Owners Association is planning a National Night Out get involved, sign up to participate. If they are not participating in National Night Out, get it started in your subdivision. Good neighbors make good communities and good communities have higher resale value. This is a great way to get out and meet your neighbors, who knows you might have more than just the neighborhood in common. The National Night Out idea is simple, know your neighbors and help keep your community safe.  Host a cook out and invite the neighbors or call me and I’ll host one for you. No joke I would love the opportunity to host your next neighborhood get together. No worries, no pressure, just me trying to help you and your neighbors to…………..

Week 1 52 Weeks in Magnolia, Texas at Visit to Unity Park

Magnolia, Texas is located about thirty miles Northwest of Houston, Texas and is growing at a nice country pace.  Just a couple of miles West of master planned The Woodlands, Texas

.  In 2010 Magnolia opened the first city park in….well…many years.  Partially funded by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, it is now open to the public.

Sometimes you just need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world around you.  Take a trip down FM 1488 and take a right on Cloyd Drive, a little further and you’ve made it to Magnolia Unity Park.  Native Texas trees and wildlife have been kept intact so you can enjoy the nature of Magnolia as God intended it.  Your find walking trails, picnic tables, sitting tree benches, nature view areas,  just to get things started.  Thirty acres of fun is waiting for you.  The young ones might enjoy the splash pad,  and playground, while the older ones might enjoy a game of horse shoes, sand volleyball or the skateboard park.  The park has something for everyone, including a huge covered pavilion with a kitchen and bathrooms.  This pavilion can be rented for your next family reunion, just contact the City of Magnolia.  On the back side of the pavilion is an amphitheater, perfect for the sounds of home town talent. I recently visited the park and took some video for you to have a look.  I hope you enjoy.
