End of July Notes

Next week we will recap and update the month that was July, but this week it’s all about mosquitoes. Our summer hasn’t been too rainy, so you shouldn’t have much standing water to get rid of. If your noticing more than usual mosquito activity in and around your home, it’s time to walk the property and find any standing water. Even a spoonful can be enough for mosquitoes to lay eggs. Bonus tip: LOOK UP, yes, you may have standing water in your gutters. A leafy gutter is a bad gutter so get the leaves out, rinse it out and then the sun can dry it out.
I visited a local garden center and here is a short list of plants that mosquitoes do not like: Lavender, Lemon Grass, Lemon Balm, Citronella, Basil, and Marigolds. Put some of these plants around the doors to your home and that should reduce the likelihood that you will have a hitchhiking mosquito when you come into your home.

THIS REALTORS PERSPECTIVE

When your searching for your lease home look for the comforts that speak to you.  Security gate, patio, location from church, work or shopping.  But what your REALLY going to want to do is talk with your REALTOR.  BEFORE you start looking……Take the time to understand:

  1. Where you stand on your credit score
  2. How your income affects rental ability
  3. How past rental history will affect your ability to lease
  4. Specific needs pets, schools

Their are many leasing options, but they will not be around forever.  If you have found the property that works for you do not wait, have your REALTOR submit an application on your behalf as soon as possible.   Your REALTOR can help you to HOME SWEET HOME, that’s what we do…lease, own, land, home, condo, townhome….our job is to help you find your way home and THAT will help you to………………….

This REALTORs Perspective:  “So they loaded up the truck and moved to…..”  Not everyone loads up the truck and moves to the big city.  Some folks don’t realize they really do have a choice where they live.  Maybe you haven’t see the moon on a clear night without the glow of a thousand street lights.  Yes, Virginia their are stars at night that are big and bright.……Deep in the Heart of Texas.  The night sky is not the only thing that you’ll enjoy when you move away from the city, you’ll enjoy a local culture that puts more emphasis on the good ole days.  Here’s a quote that sums it up pretty well:

‎”Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least.”. Goethe

Country living is not for everyone, but those that need to get back to the core of their being, it might be just what the doctor ordered.  Slow down, relax, enjoy the stars at night.  Life’s too short, you have to LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST….
